From CG Cutter to Creative Careers

In spring 2021, I joined the United States Coast Guard, and it quickly became an experience that would shape me in ways I never expected. After completing boot camp, I was stationed in Charleston, SC, aboard an 87-foot cutter named Yellowfin. During my time on the water, I was involved in various missions—enforcing fishery laws, escorting research vessels, and conducting search and rescue operations. Each day brought new challenges, but also immense personal growth. It was exhausting yet exhilarating, and I made memories that will last a lifetime.

In the fall of 2022, I was sent to a training center in Petaluma, California, where I gained valuable experience as an Information Systems Technician. Afterward, I made the long drive back across the country to South Carolina, where I continued serving with ESD Charleston, covering the local area of responsibility.

Fast forward to May 2025, when I will retire from active duty and step into the next chapter of my life. Before joining the Coast Guard, I worked as a Graphic Designer for a landscaping architect firm and later as a Project Manager for an engineering company. Now, as I transition back into civilian life, I want to get back in the creative flow, which is why I’ve started this website to showcase my abilities and share my journey with you.

Stay tuned for future posts where I’ll dive deeper into my experiences and what I’m learning along the way!
